Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Canadian foreign minister had asked the United Nations Chief Ban Ki-moon not to take part in the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that the Canadian foreign minister had asked the United Nations Chief Ban Ki-moon not to take part in the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran.The foreign minister made the remarks here Sunday morning while briefing the Iranian parliament on the achievements of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Tehran on August 26-31.Referring to the West attempts to create a propaganda ballyhoo against Iran prior to the summit, he said the Canadian foreign minister had asked Ban Ki-moon in a letter not to attend the summit.He said based on information achieved by Iran, Canada had also contacted a number of countries, asking them not to attend the event. /129
